So I was caught off guard when I heard the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the "Texas Pledge" at Alex's school during the morning announcements.
I knew Texans were proud, but come on, your own pledge!?!?!
"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."
Apparently, the 80th Legislature recently passed HB1034 which amends the Pledge of Allegiance. Don't law makers have anything better do?
I couldn't believe it when I moved here! But my husband knows it word for word.
ReplyDeletehey watch it girl, your kids are texans, don't forget! :)
ReplyDeleteJodie,
ReplyDeleteTexas Rules! And that is why we must pledge.
We try to brainwash our children early.
Kind of like Mormo... JUST KIDDING! JUST KIDDING!
How was Double Dave's last night?
ReplyDeleteDon't be too freaked out!
;)
K...I'm a little freaked out.
ReplyDeleteDo tell?
LOL - sorry about this but it is kind of funny!
ReplyDeleteI was watching my A&M Game at home and our cable went out. So I ended up at Double Dave's to watch the game. Towards the end of my game I saw you come in the door with your son Cole - I believe his name is.
Well, out of a combination of me being involved in the game, you quickly picking up a pizza, and me being chicken to say hello from across the room . . . I didn't say anything. However if ya'll were going to sit down I was going to come over and introduce myself.
Pretty funny that I saw you there and recognized you. Next time I will definately say hello. :)
Nice new car by the way!
I love the Internet. You know someone without "knowing them."
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a little freaked out that "some dude" read my blog and recognized his family. (Yep, that was Cole.) I told him Mindy vouched for ya.
