The Last Lecture

I have to order the book. I know, I can watch it for free on-line, but I want to have a copy to read to my children. I also want to honor the author by benefitting his family with my purchase.

Fly Lady

I have tried several different schedules to keep this new house clean and running smoothly. With all my good intentions, none of my plans have worked out well.
So, I have gone back to my old standby..www.flylady.net. This lady's schedule is awesome, and so not overwhelming. OK, well, it is a little overwhelming when you have to read all the directions, but after that, your house runs like a dream!
What I love most about Fly Lady is that she makes sure you make time for yourself, i.e. bubble bath or read a book. She also sends you daily e-mail "challenges" and reminders so that the housework doesn't get too monotonous.

Crazy Good Dinner Party

One of Don's best buddies, David, had a dinner party Saturday night. There was six courses and a professional Chef involved. It was so much fun, until I got sick and had to leave during dessert which was a pillow soft molten dark chocolate cake...my favorite. :(
We are so going to this guys new restaurant for round two on that cake and his crazy good fillet minion in cherry truffle sauce!
All I could think on the way home was how fortunate we are to have these kind of opportunities.

2008 Crawfish Boil

OK...I admit it, I am too vain to invite people over when our house isn't decorated properly. Thank, Mom. I don't want people to think I am as tacky as my house looks.
On the other hand, I just couldn't go a whole year without having a crawfish boil. So, I invited few close friends [Their names have been omitted to protect the innocent.] over to eat bugs. All of our fingers burned for days, but it was worth it!

Game Face

Randi's new thing is practicing her emotions in the mirror. When she is in the throws of a tantrum, she will often tell me "I have to go see my sad face!" Then, she will practice it in the mirror until she cracks herself up. It's great!

New House

I am still working on the inside, hence the lack of pictures.
It is just perfect for us, a game-room, 4 bedrooms, a gym (junk room right now), a fabulous kitchen, an office, and 15 minutes or less from anything in Houston!
