Easter 2008

My generous Mother came into town to watch our 3 little ones while Don and I attend an old friend's wedding in Seattle, WA. Though I missed spending Easter with my kids, I did love the time away.
Here are some of the highlights:

We stayed at The W. They upgraded our room, ordered limos for us, made our dinner reservations and literally ran my errands.
How cool is that?

On Friday, we visited Pike's Place Market. It is a huge open air market with fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, and flowers...incredible stuff!!! They also have tons of artists highlighting their music, crafts, jewelry, etc.
The kicker of it all was having a yummy hot chocolate at the original Starbucks.

Before dinner, we had a little time to kill so we visited the Seattle Art Museum. We toured the ancient Rome exhibit. We just wish we had had time to tour the rest of the museum.

Dinner Friday night was at the Palisade. We were fortunate enough to get a table right near the windows. We watched the sun set on all of downtown Seattle and their beautiful marina.
The food was amazing. We had lobster bisque, crab won-tons, warm brie', salad, King Crab legs, prawns, salmon, scallops, warm breads, sorbet, and white chocolate mouse cake...two of those.

On Saturday, we had lunch with Nicole and Andrew at the Space Needle. The restaurant floor actually revolves so that you can have a panoramic view of Seattle from 500 ft. in the air.
Food, not so good...view of a Bald Eagle almost eye-to-eye, fabulous!

There were so many other fun things like lunch at Cutter's with fresh Sockeye salmon sushi, finding a coat for me in their 30 degree SPRING, attending Kelly's wedding, watching Don scroll through his blackberry every 5 minutes to find basketball scores, grabbing some chocolate in Pioneer's square, but you get the point.

The best surprise of all was that it didn't rain until the day we left! Lucky us.
Thanks again, Mom!
